Chelsea due surprise Hazard windfall

Premier League giants Chelsea are set to make money off a transfer of a retired player.

The Blues are earning another 5 million from Eden Hazard's move to Real Madrid this season.

Real reached the Champions League final, which was one of the stipulations in the deal that took Hazard to Real in 2019.

The Telegraph states the deal had a total of 40 million in add-ons, including payments for each time Real reached the final in subsequent years (up to a specific year).

Even though Hazard is no longer at Real, that amount of time has not passed, which will lead to the extra payment.

The Belgian was unable to show his best form with the La Liga giants due to injuries.
